Dear Aunt Chris and family,
I was very sorry to hear about Uncle Martin†™s passing. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
Like my sister Janet, I thought our Uncle Martin was a very handsome man. He was also a beautiful person. Unlike my sister, I wasn†™t raised in Port Dalhousie, and as a result, I didn†™t have as much contact with Uncle Martin while I was a growing up. During my childhood, I remember feeling jealous whenever my sister spoke about the Barry†™s Bay trips with Uncle Martin. It wasn†™t the fishing or camping that appealed to me as much as having the pleasure of our uncle†™s company. Uncle Martin had a way of making you feel like you were the most interesting and special person he had ever met. Our uncle was the one who was truly fascinating and unique. He loved to laugh and tease in a way that was affectionate and never mean. His stories were hilarious. His delivery was often the most entertaining part of a story. Uncle Martin engaged every fibre of his being in relating his account of some amusing event. Corcorans have a tendency to be passionate about many things, and Uncle Martin was no exception. His energy was contagious.
Our father was a stickler when it came to what he perceived as fairness. Consequently, he tried his best not to favour any family member. Although Dad may have loved all his brothers equally, I know that he was particularly proud of his baby brother.
We†™ll miss you, Uncle Martin. Our lives were much richer for having known

Dear Christine, Karen and all of Marty†™s family,
I was so sorry to hear of Marty†™s passing. I have many fond memories of working for you at the farmers market and at your store. I remember Sue and I going to Karen†™s wedding and you and Marty coming to mine. I cannot pass a Christmas tree stand without thinking of the times I went north with Marty to bundle the trees and bring them to the tree lot. I still have a tree truck piece that I kept from those days. On Boxing Day I proudly used the silverware you and Marty gave me oh so many years ago. Please take care of yourselves and know that you are loved. Ann

Dear Chris, Jim and Family's... So sorry for you loss and my deepest sympathy... At a very young age Uncle Martin became a big influence in my life. I remember when the house on Simpson Rd. was being built he was living in a small trailer. I thought it was so neat and romantic and it also was on wheels so if you wanted to go traveling you could just move on. I was very confused on how Prince the dog changed his appearance and it wasn't until later that I realized the true identities of Prince. Uncle Martin was responsible for my summer holidays and my first camping experiences. He would take me up to Barry's Bay in the summer. I don't really know who was more excited the first time I landed a big Pickerel into the boat. I grew weary trying to get it in but not for one moment would Uncle Martin take my rod out of my hand. Only words of encouragement from him "You can do it" and the celebration after I achieved my catch was so meaningful to me. We would come back to shore at dark (cause that was when you got the big ones) have one gigantic campfire and have potatoes roasted to perfection. We would sit around with jokes and telling stories and listening to the loons. He was the most handsome man to me and was also my first love. Uncle Martin played on fastball team in the park in Port, with legit ball sweaters and all. I was so proud to sit in the stands and tell all my friends that is my Uncle Martin out there! Our family visits were so exciting and nothing but good memories. He would always try to pull your leg and could barely compose himself long enough before he would break out into a big belly laugh. He was the one that had lots of conversations with me about my endeavours trying to Union organize a sweat shop I worked at in Toronto. So knowledgeable When he entered into politics my Fathers chest would stick way out talking about him. He was extremely proud of his baby brother's accomplishments, as all were. He also was my Master Of Ceremonies at my wedding and like all tasks he took on, was extraordinary When my father was sick before his passing it was you Chris and Uncle Martin that postponed your plans and came to Wolfe Island to help with his care. I know that is was very important for Dad to talk to Uncle Martin about things he could not discuss with me. I will always remember your generosity and always be grateful for that. I want you to know that I am always available to you and your family for anything I can do for you. He will be missed greatly! `Until Meet Again Uncle Martin` Love To all of you Janet xoxoxo

I've only known Martin for the past three years, he was my neighbour. From the very first day that May that we moved in and he was in his field I walked over and he welcomed me with that large voice and smile of his. I was always amazed at his abundance of energy and being a bit of a history buff always enjoyed hearing his stories of the history behind Simpson Rd. I will miss his booming voice and seeing him plow his field on his blue tractor !!!

Dear Aunt Christine, Karen, Randy, Tina & Zach.
After hearing about Uncle Marty's passing, Keith and I started to share our memories. Marty had such a great laugh and he always touched your arm with such warmth and caring when he was telling you a story. We will always remember how he lived his life with such passion.... and Oh how he loved his garden...... Uncle Marty truly enjoyed being around people but it was when he spoke about or was around Karen, Tina or Zach that you could see his eyes lite up .....Boy did he love those kids.
Aunt Chris...I can't ever remember Marty saying a negative remark about you or your relationship...He had such admiration, love and respect or you....That's the way it should be....... I personally enjoyed his company and always felt most welcome.
I know he will be missed by many. Love and Hugs to all the family.

St. Catharines A's
A few years back I began to play travel fastball for the St. Catharines A's Squirt fastball team. The first practice I had, my papa was sitting on the benches already ready for some ball. After the practice he told me that he was disappointed that the coaches weren't really in the game.
Another year passed and it was baseball season once again. But this time, the coach was my papa Martin and my mom(karen). Right off the bat my papa began to teach all of us the true meaning of ball. We were a hardworking team thanks to the great leadership. Up came our first game. We went in with our heads up and left with pride. Our first game of the season was a win. That win lead to a whole undefeated season of ball. Since we had done so well throughout the season, we were invited to go to Unionville(Toronto) to compete in a tournament against other teams from Southern Ontario. We had to take place in five games. The first three games were close but in the end, we were the victors. The fourth game was tough but my papa had known exactly how to deal with it. In the end we had won another game. Two hours later it was our final game. The other team was also undefeated so we were prepared to use every bit of our baseball knowledge to win the game. Throughout the game, papa Martin was on the ball, every hit, every catch, every play. Screaming and cheering, to dealing with the lousy calls.
In the end, we completed our season undefeated, all thanks to my great papa, Martin Corcoron.
