Obituary of Shirley Paterson

Paterson, Shirley Ruth (nee: Conlon), Peacefully on Thursday November 12, 2009, at the St. Catharines General Hospital, in her 76th year. She has now been reunited with her husband, and best friend, Chuck. Loving mother of Kathleen Henderson of Dundas, Kevin (Maria) Paterson of St. Catharines, Neil (Alix Freiberger) Paterson of Victoria B.C., and Cheryl Paterson (Chris Harrison) of Dundas. Cherished grandma of Ceilidh, Meghan, Quinn, Erica, Julia, Zoe, Gillian, Kate, Jennifer and Patrick, "Grandma, we will love you forever". Shirley will be sadly missed by family, friends, especially Betty Nicol and Anne Swayne. A caring and generous person, she was a founding member of New Beginnings (bereavement group), she was an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and involved in the C.W.L. Mrs. Paterson is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St. St. Catharines. Friends may call on Sunday November 15, 2009, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday November 16, 2009 at 9:30 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 316 Queenston St. St. Catharines with rite of commital to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
