Obituary of Walter Kotyk

Kotyk, Walter (1925-2009) - Peacefully at home on October 19, 2009. Loving husband of Gwendolyn (nee Bastings) for over 60 years. Dear father of Linda Carriere, David, Gary and Glen. Grandfather of Jordin Marshall (Brady), Shay Carriere (Lindsay), Alexandra, Nathan and Dylan. Special Poppa to great grandson Simon. Loving brother to Michael and brother-in-law to Olga. Uncle Walt will also be lovingly remembered by numerous nephews and nieces. Predeceased by his brother William and sister Olga Sinclair, brother-in-law Bill Sinclair, sister-in-law Laura, and son-in-law Jim Carriere. Walter retired from Thompson Products after 42 years of service. He will also be missed by many long time friends at Garden City Productions. Family and friends may visit the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A celebration of Walter's life will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 12:30pm. Cremation has already taken place. Memorial donations may be made to St. Catharines General Hospital Walker Cancer Centre or Heart and Stroke Foundation in Walter's memory.
