Obituary of Gerald John Penney

Penney, Gerald (Jerry) - After saying goodnight to his loved ones, Jerry passed away peacefully at home early Sunday October 4, 2009 at the age of 67. He displayed courage, grace, and dignity throughout his battle with cancer. Jerry enjoyed 8 years of retirement after 36 years at the G.M. engine plant. He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife of 40 years, Hedy (nee: Peters), daughter Tricia, son Mark (Tania), treasured grandsons Cohen and Braeden, and his mother Mary. Jerry is also survived by his sisters in law Lillian (Michael) Lalonde, Emmy Krause and by many nieces and nephews. Jerry is predeceased by his brother in law Allan Krause (2009). A special thanks to Dr's. Berti and Samosh for all their care and compassion. George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St. St. Catharines have been entrusted with the arrangements for Mr. Penney. The family will receive friends on Thursday October 8, 2009 from 12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m. with the service to follow in the funeral home at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances made to the Walker Family Cancer Center would be appreciated by the family.
