SZOSTAK, Rosa (nee Moreschini) It is with profound sadness that the family of Rosa Szostak (nee Moreschini) announce her passing away on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital, in her 86th year. Predeceased by her husband John (1987) and baby daughter Joanne (1955). Also predeceased by sisters Una Moreschini (Argentina), Maria (Guerino), Polinesi (Italy), brothers Giovanni and Giuseppe Moreschini (Italy). Beloved mother of Vicki (Donald) Hall and Joseph (Angela). Lovingly remembered by sisters Emma (Amedeo), Sagrini (Italy) and Ida Silenzi (Argentina); brothers Mario- (Peppa) Moreschini, Mariano (Palmena) Moreschini all of Italy; sister-in-law of Lucia (Joseph) Szostak Buffalo, N.Y.; Stella (Walter) Olearcyzk, of Utica, N.Y.. Rosa will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews in New York, Italy and Argentina. She was a member of St. Alfred's Parish; St. Alfred's Seniors Centre and for many years of Club Roma's Seniors Centre. Rosa was well know for her Cabbage Rolls, her infectious smile, sense of humour and going to the Casino. She will be deeply missed by her very close friends who have given her SO MUCH support and pleasure throughout the years, especially "Zia" Rosa (who was like her second mother!) A sincere thank you to all of the staff at the HDS who provided their on going support & words of encouragement which was deeply appreciated, as well as the compassionate care provided by the nursing personnel of 2 W. & 2 E. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 from 2- 4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine St., on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Fonthill. Vigil prayers will be celebrated in the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. If desired, donations may be made to Easter Seals or to the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital Foundation.
