There are no words to express the sorrow we feel on hearing the news of Mats passing - Mat was a very special young man so kind, so witty, so proud of his family - We shared a laugh most every day while he was at Woodstock General - we referred to him warmly as "our little brother" He had so much potential. Will it ever make sense? Our deepest sympathy to his family and friends

My condolences to Matt's family. He spoke of you at times at coffee and at lunches during his work placement at Woodstock General Hospital. He was a remarkable young man with humour, wit and patience..unique in one so young. Matt was very helpful to me in proposal development and was always thoughtful in his comments and suggestions. Any of us would have be proud to have him as a colleague and friend.
Sincerely,
Patricia Edwards

To the DiPoce Family,
I only got to know Mat from two short semesters in the MBA program, but that was by no means too short a time to find out what an incredibly gentle soul he was. He had such a big smile and a big heart. It's rare to find someone so friendly, intelligent, witty and caring all in one- he was the real deal. In his time here he filled so many others with life and I know that his spirit will carry within us all.
My condolences go out to you through this difficult time. May you heal knowing that your beautiful and gifted son lived a great life and touched the lives of so many others.
Sincerely,
Carly Moore, classmate and friend

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. I was shocked to hear of Matt's sudden passing. I met him through my daughter Stephanie, who had gone to high school with him and remained good friends. He was polite, caring and will be missed but always remembered.

During Mat's term at Woodstock General Hospital I had the pleasure of sitting in the office right across the hall from Mat and was therefore in touch with him on an ongoing basis. I thoroughly enjoyed my daily contact with Mat, not only did I have great respect for his knowledge of the job but I really enjoyed his sense of humour and we teased each other on a daily basis. Mat was a wonderful person and I extend my deepest sympathies to the family.

My condolences to Mathew's family and friends. During Mathew's recent co-op placement at Woodstock General Hospital, I had the opportunity to work with him on several projects. Mathew always gave 110% to every project or task he was given. His warm, outgoing and positive outlook on life touched everyone around him and he was an individual who made a difference for all of those who had an opportunity to have met him. My sincere condolences, Susan Innis

To the DiPoce family,
I have lived with Mathew for the last few months here in Hamilton and I feel so privileged to have had the pleasure of meeting such an all-around outstanding man. Mathew has left a lasting impression on me and my housemates, and nothing in the world can fill the void that is in our hearts at this time. His charisma and positive energy around the house will be deeply missed, and we will always remember his innate and powerful ability to bring a smile to anyone's face.
My thoughts are with all of you in this difficult time.

As a fellow MBA student, I began to get to know Mat very well over the course of the last few months. I found myself spending time with all of the guys on Dalewood quite often. Mat's consistent positive attitude and caring for others is something that I will miss greatly about him. On that Thursday night at about 3:30am, Mat and I ate a few hamburgers that he BBQ'd for us and we shared some great laughs. He seemed to be really happy that night and we were all having a great time. We were all in such a good mood to have finally finished our exams. Our MBA program will not be the same without him. Mat was such an amazing person and will be missed by so many friends here at McMaster. My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family.

Hello,
My name is Meaghan Horgan, and I'm a classmate of Mat's at DeGroote. Please accept my deepest sympathies for the loss of your son and brother. He was truly an exceptional individual with an enormous amount of potential. I'm writing because I will be unable to attend the services next week, and I want you to know how much Mat meant to me.
Mat was extraordinarily kind, thoughtful, and gentle. He was quick with a joke and his happiness was infectious. He always brought a smile to my face with a twinkle in his eye that reminded me to be happy and embrace life. In a program where many individuals with different backgrounds were brought together, Mat was always inclusive and accommodating of others. He set you at ease.
I feel as though my words are not coming close to expressing the impression that Mat left on me, nor are they enough to capture the grief of this terrible loss. I just want you to know what great light Mat shone into my life this past year.
My heart goes out to your family. I am so sorry for your loss.
With deepest sympathy,
Meaghan
