He's not hurting anymore
He's with those who went before
Walter,mom and many more
We got to say our goodbyes
Another day was our surprise
We were not left with Saturday
My God had another way
As I sang Amazing Grace
And saw the look upon his face
I knew he's in a better place
To go over in my mind
How God was so very kind
I'm the one he left behind
We were all around his bed
The pleasant memories were said
It was then he choose to be
Forever and eternally
With Jesus,who he could see
What a day,glorious day it was for me

I've gone north to the cottage, it's hunting I've gone
that's where I'm happy, it's where I belong
the sounds of the wild is what I can hear
as I patiently wait for you whilst watching the deer
I will tramp between the trees and hear the songs of birds above
and think of my family, my proud heart bursting with love
now, when you think of me, think happy not sad
remembering all the good times we had
When you need me I will always be near
but right now I'm off hunting the deer.

The Last True King of Scotland
I would just like to thank you all for coming. Well for starters I would like to talk about some of the character traits of my father that you all have grown to love like kindness, compassion, dependability, and understanding. I have so many fond memories of my father as well as most of you in this room. I would just like you all to take a second and think of one story that you can remember about my father and share it with the person beside you. When I start to feel the grief is too much to bear, I always try to remember the fond memories.
Well my father was born in Stenhousemuir, Scotland in 1931. He had two sisters and two brothers. There names were Mary, Margaret, John and Frank. His Mother†™s name was Flora MacDonald, and his Father†™s name was Robert Taylor. They definitely broke the mold when they made him. And believe me I called Scotland and they told me that really was the case. He had six children and a loving wife. There names are Robert, Jimmy, Sherry, Danielle, Ron, Donovan, and Lynn his loving wife.
He was the best father a son could ever wish for. He taught me how to be a man, and to always look for the bargains, and that stacking a wood piles in winter weather builds character, ( at least that what he told me). The only reason I found it hard to believe was because he was telling me when he sweating from the heat from the wood stove while I was freezing outside bringing him wood for the fire. And to tell you the truth I don†™t think I would have a fraction of the work ethic of my father, if it wasn†™t for all the work that we did together, over the course of both our lives.
One thing that he was always told me was that he was going to live till he was ninety nine years old so that he could get all the money back that he paid to the government. I always got a kick out of that one. He loved the NDP†™s and hated the Tories, he always had an opinion about Canadian Politics and it really helped me excel at political science. So I guess that you can say my father†™s opinion on the government helped me get an education, so really in a way he did get all the money back from the government.
He was always proud of his grandchildren. All 25 of them, he was so proud of all there achievements and there love for him. His eyes would light up every time one of them walked into the room. He was great to his friends, family and their children he always made everyone feel like they were a part of the family, even if they weren†™t. He had a way with children and they loved him for it.
He taught me to never judge a book by it cover, because you never know what you will miss on the inside when you†™re so concerned about the exterior. A few of you in this room can attest to that fact. He never cared about the clothes that he wore, the car he drove or the house that he lived in. He really only cared about the things in life that mattered like God, his wife, family and friends. I†™m just really glad that I had the time that I did with my father and I wouldn†™t trade it for anything in the world. The one thing I can say about my father is that even thou we have the same size feet I will spend the rest of life trying to fill his shoes.
So, Dad if you†™re up there and you can see me tell Gran that I love her that her haggish basher misses her and will be with her soon. In closing I would like to turn your attention to my brother Ron who is going to read a poem written by Robert Burns, my father†™s favourite Scottish poet. And when you hear it you will know why it reminds me of my father.
Farewell to the Highlands
†œFailte na Miosg.†
FAREWELL to the Highlands, farewell to the North,
The birth-place of Valour, the country of Worth;
Wherever I wander, wherever I rove,
The hills of the Highlands for ever I love.
My heart†™s in the Highlands, my heart is not here,
My heart†™s in the Highlands, a-chasing the deer;
Chasing the wild-deer, and following the roe,
My heart†™s in the Highlands, wherever I go.
Farewell to the mountains, high-cover†™d with snow,
Farewell to the straths and green vally below;
Farewell to the forests and wild-hanging woods,
Farewell to the torrents and loud-pouring floods.
My heart†™s in the Highlands, &c
Robert Burns

I would like to express my condolences, for the passing away of Ron. I first met Ron, when he was attending my Dad's computer repair class, at St. Ann's Learning Centre in Niagara Falls (in the late 90's / early 2000's i believe). There, i also met his good friend Wally. I would also run into Ron from time to time at Gary's computer place. Ron was a really great guy. He had tonnes of energy, and accomplished so much throughout his life that a lot of us would never even approach. This i really admired about Ron (and thought to myself, that i could never even come close to the life-knowledge that he had). I also admired Ron's child-like youth (even at the age of 79!). It was pretty amazing :) Anyway, i know this is a very big loss for the family, but i also know that Ron is very happy at the moment as well (in spirit) :), and i'm very lucky to have spent the time with him that i did, and feel very fortunate to have gotten to know him.

It was a pleasure to have known Ron and we will remember him for his compassion, tender heart, thoughtfulness to others and love for his family. He loved the Lord as well, and had a servant's heart, always willing to share with others the difference that Christ had made in his life. He will be greatly missed by all of us who have known him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Lynn, and all of the family. Love, Fred and Rosiland

To Lynn, Robert, Jim, Ron, Shari, Danielle, Donovan and all of Ron's extended family, we are so saddened by your loss. I have known Ron my entire life, and he was a very special person. If he had one fault, it was that he didn't know how to say "No". If anybody needed help with anything, Ron was the first to offer assistance. Not only did he offer, but he jumped in and did the job. There aren't many people like him and he will be missed. Our thoughts are with you at this time.

Aunt Lynn, Sherry, Danielle, Ronnie, Donovan & families:
I am so sad to hear that Uncle Ron has passed. He was such a good man, so generous and kind. I'm sad that we lost touch and I never saw him again. One more example of how quickly life passes us by. Aunt Lynn I'm so sorry that you you had to watch him suffer, but I'm glad he had such a wonderful wife to take care of him. I love you all so much. I am thinking of you, and I hope to be there on Wednesday. Hugs to you all. Love you! Sandra
