Obituary of Dolores Lillian Ciurcovich

CIURCOVICH, Dolores Lillian (Saltarelli), The family of Dolores Ciurcovich regretfully announces the passing of Dolores on June 30th, 2010. Dolores died 3 weeks following surgery of a bowel tumor which had gone undetected for over ten years. She died at the St. Catharines General Hospital. In her immediate family, Dolores is survived by her spouse of 34 years, Attilio; and her son Kristoforo (Kris). She is also survived by her mother Regina Saltarelli, her siblings William (Bill) Saltarelli, David Saltarelli and her sister Bonnie Jordan. Dolores is also survived by many family members in Welland, St. Catharines, and the Niagara and Hamilton regions. Born in Welland, she attended Notre Dame High School. She graduated from MacMaster University, and then Teachers College. Dolores was a high school teacher with the District School Board of Niagara since 1975. She taught Art, English and English as a second language at Grantham High School and then Merriton High School. She enjoyed the company of her teaching companions, and many of her students. She was a kind and gentle soul. She will be sorely missed by all those who loved her. May she rest in peace. Dolores is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. on Saturday evening from 7-9 p.m. and on Sunday evening from 7-9 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 5, 2010 at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine St. at 11:00 a.m. The Rite of Committal to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil prayers will be celebrated in the funeral home on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m.
