Tom was always about helping others
Anne and boys; it was with shock and sadness that I heard from Gary about Tom's advanced cancer. I wanted to write you a note, but to be honest, I struggled with what to say. You two were just ready to embark on retirement and all that it promised. Like Brenda, I remember on Albert St., you two cuddling on the couch while sitting for us and Tom goofing around and showing off his bicep to me. Every someone in the family mentioned Tom, it was about something that he had done for someone, because that was just the kind of person that he was. With you, he was a key member of our extended family, hosting reunions year after year, sharing your cottage with your family, just being a light to everyone around him. He will be deeply missed by all you knew him, but he leaves a strong legacy with your sons, who learned how to be a good husband, father and man from an excellent one.
May God's Grace carry you through this time.

It saddens my heart to write this. I feel very privileged to have known Tom; he was an amazing husband, father and grandfather, you could see it in his adoring eyes how much his family meant to him and how much he loved you all. He light up a room every time he walked into it and filled it with joy and laughter. He will be sadly missed by so many. May you find peace in knowing how much you were loved and how special you all were to him. My deepest sympathy.

It truly was a shock to hear about the passing of Tom. His presence will surely be missed. Anne in the last number of years, and despite the fact your family has not lived on Banburry Crescent I have had the opportunity to meet your sons on several occasions and at different functions. Make no mistake Tom's and your charm lives through them.

Anne; Gary phoned me a week ago, and I've been struggling since to find the words... Tom was just one of those 'glue' guys who always tried to help anyone he touched. His generosity in hosting the family reunions all those years, how I heard that he treated his employees, and just every time his name was mentioned, it was about something positive he had done in someone's life. That life was just cut too short, as you two were preparing the empty-nest years, spoiling your grandkids, all that stuff. Like Brenda, I remember back in the day you two sitting for us, him showing off his bicep to me as you guys cuddled on the couch. The pain you must feel right now, you are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you and the boys, and may He grant you His peace.

After They Are Gone
When someone we love passes away,
We ache, but we go on;
Our dear departed would want us to heal,
After they are gone.
Grief is a normal way to mend
The anguish and pain in our hearts;
We need time to remember and time to mourn,
Before the recovery starts.
Let's draw together to recuperate,
As we go through this period of sorrow;
Let's help each other, with tender care
To find a brighter tomorrow.

Thank you
I haven't had a chance over the years to say thanks for the things that you have done for me. You are more like a brother than a brother in law and the things below will attest to that.
1. Giving me money to go to the store when I was 8 so you and Anne could spend time alone when I was gone.
2. Taking me to the Lakeshore drive in and letting me sit in the front seat while you and Anne sat in the back seat. I think the movie was easier to watch from the front seat.
3. Taking me to A&W and Markarians.
4. Teaching me how to ride a Honda 50 CC so I could ride it around the farm.
5. Taking me swimming at the farm.
6. Getting a job with your Dad picking fruit.
7. Taking me swimming at Bev Secords pool.
8. Giving me a job at Alumabrite and making it so bad to work there that I choose another career path.
9. Letting me use the farm to have my wedding and allowing me to give away cheap booze at the same function.
10. Teaching me how to drive a tractor and trusting me to carry passengers at the family reunions.
11. Allowing me to use the property to store my boat outside then coming to your senses and letting me store it inside.
12. Letting me use both cottages to spend great times with my family as well as spending great times with you and your family.
13. Not making me pay for an outdrive for Bonus after all the rocks I hit at the lake.
14. Letting me win way too many golf games and paying for a lot of them.
I must have missed at least a dozen more things but these are just a few that pop into my head.
Love you†™re pal Uncle Gary
