An inspiration
I am reading this and find myself shocked. I haven't spoken with Neil in almost three years. The last time I heard from him we were both thinking of big plans for our futures. The world suffers a great loss whithout his plan.
Neil and I grew up together. He was always like a big brother to me, though I was his senior. He and his family looked out for me when my own had abandoned me; these character traits are unique to many, but were common to him.
When I met Neil we were both a couple of shy kids. Together, we felt we could conquer the world, and in our own rights we had.
Thank you Neil, for everything you gave this world, a brother, a father, and a friend.
We all bare scars in this life. The loss of this man will leave a deep scar in my heart; in this scar you will live on forever.
I miss you brother.

From Boy to Man Boy to Landlord
I have known Neil many years and have many fond memories.
For example, Hey Annie, I love that perfume you're wearing. Thanks Neil, it's Fabreeze!
Or the time Neil invited me to the graveyard along with his buddys to go and down a few beers, even though he had built two decks in the back yard of his house. But then again Neil always loved a change of scenery. Budweiser will certainly miss him, the shares may drop.
Hurricane Neil lived life to the fullest and blew out leaving sadness to all who knew him.
I will miss his michievious brutal sense of humour. With heart felt sympathy to Neil's best buddy, my good friend Olivia. Also to Bruce, Claire, Tom, Lessia, Emma & Alison and of course Otto.

Please accept my condolences on the tragic passing of your husband, son, father and friend. I knew him only briefly as a customer but he was one of those individuals who was easily remembered for his creative mind, joyful spirit and uncompromising devotion.
May you take comfort in knowing his spirit lives on in those he touched.

Lessia, Emma, Ali, Olivia, Tom, Bruce, Claire:
I will always be greatful for the opportunity of knowing Neil. For what he gave me and others around him during his walk through our lives.
It was truly wonderful to watch him transform from a rambunctious teen into a hardworking, entrepreneurial, responsible, loving Husband and Father.
Neil knew and lived 'the code' of giving and true friendship. We could count on him. He will be missed.
It is with the greatest honour that I call him FRIEND.
The days, weeks and monthes ahead will be dark and heavy. You must lean on each other and those around you.
There will be light, there will hope, there will be love again.
Be assured that my thoughts are with you and my resources are always at your disposal.
Frank.

Dear Bruce and family;
We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Knowing what a beautiful man you are Bruce we can only imagine how lovely your Neil was, therefore how loved he was by you all, his family. Our deepest sympathy and condolences to all of your family at this very sad time.
Our thoughts and understanding are with you all at this difficult time, the only words of comfort that we could give all of you are that the pain and sorrow lessens eventually, although it probably does not seem possible at this moment. While we never forget our love and friendship with those we love or the moments we shared, the pain and loss does eventually lessen and becomes something else; something sacred and different for all of us.
We are thinking of you, wishing we could give you a hug and some comfort other than words.
love,
Virginia, Peter, Rhiannon and Teagan

One of the best.
Neil is one of the greatest guys I have had the priviledge of knowing.
We worked together, we laughed, oh how we laughed. He was a great big ball of energy that was always there if and when you needed him. He is truly the epitome of a true friend and human.
Lessia.... I truly am sorry for this huge loss. I cannot begin to realize your pain. Know that you and your girls are, and will remain, in our prayers.
May the comfort that God sends to you, be realized and know that we will see him again(John 14 verses 1 thru 6)
Olivia.... You are truly a wonderful lady. Neil told me so many times how much he loved you and the fact that you were not only his Mom but his friend. Words alone cannot express how you are feeling at this time. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Neil is and always will be a huge part of all who know him, he will be greatly missed.
Bruce and Claire.... I only met you briefly but I want to say that I am so very sorry for the loss of your Son, Brother and friend.
Neil was always the center of the fun. I have only great memories of him and will cherish those memories and the time we had together. I am a better person for having known him.
Neil.... You are a true friend, a beautiful human being. It brings tears to my eyes to know that you are no longer with us. I thank God for the time we did have and the memories we created. I will see you again, I know that for certain. So many times we say at times like these what we should have said face to face, this is one of my biggest regrets. You are loved, missed but never ever forgotten. Sleep well my friend.

Another new friend
I've only known Neil for the past 7 months, but after getting to known him it seems like we've been friends for years. I didn't think spraying foam in basements would be fun, but with Neil the laughs never stopped. I'm glad I had the chance to get to known him. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family. Words cannot express how sorry I am. Neil will be missed but never forgotten.

I can't imagine the heartbreak of this terrible loss. Neil's father Bruce is a dear friend and wonderful musician who was part of the Canadian Singers family for years and was incredibly kind and generous with his talents when my mother died two years ago. We know how deeply he loves his children and grandchildren and his many friends will only wish there were some way we could take on even a fraction of the pain of Neil's loss. How sad that only in situations like this do families discover the full extent of the positive impact their loved one had on the people in his life. It seems that in Neils case, it was profound.
With prayers for your comfort, and deep sympathy.

My cousin Neil
I have known my cousin Neil all of his life. I remember one family visit to the Harvey home in Willowdale when he was still just a young lad, and how excited he was to have my brother, his cousin Robert (Row-Bear; family joke!), there to play with, to roughhouse with, hang-out with. Neil was a bundle of energy, never tired of playing with Robert, always ready for more. And, he may have been a bit mischievous too †" I remember him giggling and laughing as he tried to cause some play-trouble for Robert. I also remember how handsome he was, even as a youngster †" he just had that cute look †" and he was just as handsome when I saw him again a few years later, this time as a full-fledged adult. †œWow!† was my first reaction †" he is huge! Tall, strong, intense-looking, great sense of humour and that twinkle in his eye suggested he was still up for some trouble making!
What I†™ve also known about Neil his whole life is how deeply loved he is by his family, and later, how deeply he loved his own family, Lessia and the girls. Although I cannot join you in person, I share in your sorrow. Bruce, Olivia and Claire, and Lessia, Emma and Ali, you will all remain in my thoughts and prayers for the days and weeks and months ahead. Neil will forever be in the hearts of all of those whose lives he touched so deeply. With much love, Jackie

New Friend
Neil showed up at our powder coating shop one day short after moving her from Toronto. He was a very easy going guy who seemed destined for success. It seemed as though he was able to pretty well learn whatever he wanted to achieve. Starting out making railings and gates in Niagara he turned his attention to a new venture. I thought he was crazy starting a Spray Foam business during a recession and I'm sure I wasn't the only one. Well, it was apparent that he proved us all wrong. He did his trial project in the attic of my house which was as anything he did fun while working. Neil will be greatly missed by anyone who's life he touched. No matter what he was up to he never seemed to busy to help a friend or share a joke. I wish his family all the best in the future and of course they will always have friends at Performance Powder Coating.
