Girl Guides
Sally was a true leader to young people. She loved her family, she loved children, and we all loved her. She opened her home to us even though she had 4 children running around of her own. One more to the mix did not matter. I remember the day she opened her kitchen to Sue and I to get our Girl Guide Cooking badge. She had us prepare the meal for 6 of them plus one guest (me) and it was a fun time, a great time, and very warming time. It had to be my first time in someone else's home for dinner without my parents there, let alone use a stove! She watched over us but not in a parental way, she was a friend, we all were comfortable around her. Thank goodness for Memories, one to be cherished that is for sure.

School Days
When I think back to the Carelton and Grantham days, I think of my friendship with Susan and particularly, Cathy. I loved going to the Humphries, because Sally was always lively, friendly and welcoming! She was an exemplary mom, supportive, honest and real with her kids, and their friends. Their bustling house was truly a home, and she will be so missed!
I have a pie plate which Sally gave me for my wedding shower. She also gave me a recipe for "Never Fail Pastry", that I still use today! Not a Christmas or Thanksgiving goes by without me pulling out the now tattered recipe Sally wrote out for me. Each and every time I make a pie, I think of all of you, and particularly her. It saddens me that every time I make a pie, although I will continue reminiscing with fond memories, I will not see her smiling, warm face again!
May each special memory shine in your hearts, and bring you peace!
With Deepest Sympathy,
Marcy (Melnychenko) McAuley, Paul, and family

Dear Steve,
I am so sorry to hear about your mom. Over the past few years I have had the opportunity to have some nice chats with your mom. She would come into my store, always with a beautiful smile and laugh, and we would take a few minutes to talk one mom to another. She would fill me in on what you were up to. We always agreed the most important thing in life was that our children were happy. Loving and caring moms like yours Steve could never be far away, she will always look over you and I hope you can find some comfort and peace in knowing how close she will always be to you.
I am thinking of you and hope you are doing okay. lots of love sandy

Playing Softball
As kids, playing softball with Susan, Kathy then Jan (and little Mia was always there), Mrs. Humphries was always an encouraging smile. No matter how the game was going or what kind of weather we played in, she was there cheering us on. She was such a nice person. Years later we would cross paths and I always marvelled at the fact she remembered my name and seem to keep tabs on me as our lives took different paths. She was a beautiful person. I am so sorry for your loss.

She was my step grandma, but I always looked past the step and looked straight to the word Grandma. The moment she saw me, when I was very young, she entered me into the family as one of her own. I'll miss you.

We are so sorry to hear of Sally's passing. We were good friends of Sally's through the Tops club. Marilyn lived around the corner on Dunkeld for many years. She is in a nursing home up north now. I am her sister and also new Sally. The last time we saw her, Sally met us at the Mandarin at lunch time for a visit. She was a beautiful person inside and out. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family. Betty Webb
