Obituary of Ross Simmons

SIMMONS, Ross - Passed away at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Saturday May 1, 2010 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Marion for over 59 years. Loving father of Joan Michon and Linda Simmons. Cherished grandfather of April, Leah, Jason and Amber. After returning from serving in the RCAF in WWII, Ross completed his Civil Engineering degree at the University of Toronto. He worked as a Town Engineer throughout Ontario until settling at the St. Lawrence Seaway until retirement in 1985. His spare time was spent at a cottage at Kahshe Lake. He was a member of the Dufferin Masonic Lodge, past Master of St. George's Masonic Lodge and a member of the Kiwanis Club. The family with to thank the staff of Linhaven for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street on Wednesday May 5, from 11-12:45 A celebration of Ross' life will be held in the chapel at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the charity of one's choice would be appreciated by his famiily.
