Obituary of Patricia Crane
We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Patricia Darlene Crane of St. Catharines, Ontario, on March 13, 2011.
Patricia was the beloved daughter of the late William and Blanche (Thompson) Crane and granddaughter of the late †œGrandma† Thompson. Pat will be sadly missed by Aunt Florence, Aunt Laura and cousins Donna & Garth King from †œout west† in Regina, Saskatchewan and Tobin King of Hamilton, Ontario. Pat will be fondly remembered by her cousins William & Carole Crane and their children, Geoffrey and Kirsten; Randy Crane and Gail Crane and their son, Adam; and Cathy Crane and her daughter, Caitlyn.
Patricia had many friends and colleagues through her work with young children in Early Childhood programs and through her many interests, joys and talents. As a result she will also be lovingly remembered by her †œSoul Sisters & Brother†, Heidi Shetta and Lois & Frank Mahon, her †œ†˜Lil Sister†, Sharon Bilinski and by her many dear friends, including †œThe Seasoned Ladies†.
A Memorial Service celebrating Patricia†™s life will be held at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catherines, Ontario, L2M 4Y1 on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.
Lock 3 was Pat's favourite place to sit, write letters and be at peace. It has been decided to commemorate Patricia and her love of this beautiful spot by placing a plaque in her memory inside the museum at Lock 3. To assist in this endeavour, in lieu of flowers, a donation is requested to the St. Catharines Museum †œIn Memory of Patricia Darlene Crane†.
HOPI PRAYER of The Soul's Graduation:
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there,
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight
On the ripened grain.
I am the gentle Autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there.
I did not die.
My Spirit is still alive…
A Memorial Tree was planted for Patricia
