Obituary of Wayne Stephen Rawsthorne

Rawsthorne, Wayne - Passed away suddenly on Tuesday March 19, 2013 at the age of 44 years. Devoted and caring Dad to Monty and Izzy and their mother Sam. Cherished son to Peter and Bernice. Loving brother to Peter (Christa), Jason (Ruth) and Cheryl. Survived by his nieces and nephews Tamara, Braeden, Grace, Nathan, Nicholson and many other close family members including Dave, Sarah, Ryann, Tristan and Ginger. Greatly missed by the family dog Peanut. Wayne was employed with the St. Catharines City Transit for over 13 years. He enjoyed ATVing with his two girls. Wayne was a Canadian war hero who served in Somalia. He suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He ended up paying the ultimate price with his life. Family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Friday between 3-7pm. Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 2:30pm with cremation to follow. Private family burial will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Ontario Poppy Fund - 89 Industrial Parkway North, Aurora, Ontario, L4G 4C4 and would be appreciated by the family.
