Obituary of John Robert Shephard

Shephard, John Robert - On Tuesday March 19, 2013 at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 86 with his loving family by his side. Beloved husband to Marianne for over 14 years. Devoted father to Mark(Carol) of Edmonton. Survived by his 8 siblings and many other family members. Predeceased by 3 siblings. John worked at Stelco for over 30 years; was an excellent cribbage player, won various trophies at 5 pin bowling and was a member of Branch 350. Family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Friday between 2-4 and 7-9pm. Vigil Prayers will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 3pm. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street, at 11am. Burial will take place on Monday at Victoria Lawn Cemetery at 10:30am. Memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation.
