Obituary of Gertrude Christina Brick
BRICK GERTRUDE CHRISTINA Peacefully passed into the Lord's care, at Westpark Health Centre, on Tuesday November 23, 2010 at 103 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Paul Brick. Loving mother of Theresa (Gunther) Bujtas, Elaine (Leslie) Einarson of Gimli, Manitoba. Cherished grandma of Lisa (Wayne) Dilts, Darren (Kim) Arthur and great grandma of Nicholas, Quinn and Cole. Gertrude will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was a member of the CWL of Star of the Sea Parish.
What mom taught us was that you are who you are and you do not make apologies for it. That whatever your circumstance, you are better off to be grateful for and appreciate what ...fortunes you have. And the biggest thing we gathered from her is that what ever you do....... do it well, give it your all whether it is cleaning, sewing, making food, raising children or building a career. The proof is in the pudding, that being the wonderful person that she was, her legacy will live on.
Family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated in Star of the Sea Church on Saturday at 2pm. Cremation to follow. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral home on Friday. Memorial donations to the Lung Association or St. Vincent de Paul Society would be appreciated by the family.
A Memorial Tree was planted for Gertrude
