Obituary of Edward Joseph Roseman

ROSEMAN, Edward Joseph - Oct. 9, 1925 - Mar. 16, 2013 - Peacefully with his family by his side, Edward passed on to heaven at Linhaven Home, St. Catharines. Survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary (nee Kuhun), beloved daughters Dr. Janice Roseman, Sharon (Art) Janzen, and devoted son & business partner Myron Roseman. Special Grandpa to Jordyn. Dear brother of Edna Golob, dear brother-in-law to Bill Kuhun. Also remembered by many nieces & nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Nicholas & Theresa (nee Kambic), both of Austrian descent, sisters Hilda Vishek, Menetta Makse, and his brother John Roseman. Edward was born & raised on a farm in Winona, ON. While walking to Hagar Public School on Hwy. 8, his interest in cars & trucks grew. Later, when the family moved to a fruit farm in west St. Catharines-Louth Township, he worked the family farm with his father & purchased his first truck in 1944 for their farm, as well as hauling goods for neighbours. Later, he would become founder & proprietor of Roseman Transport Ltd. He was a great accordion player & entertained family & friends for years with his polka music & big smiles. He was known for his sense of humour, his chicken wings & Slovenian sausage BBQs and his practical jokes. He always had time for his family & we always felt his love. He also loved old cars & trucks & was a member of the Historical Automobile Society of Canada, a past director of the St. Catharines Community Credit Union & served on the Food Carriers Council for the Ontario Trucking Association. Edward was also a member of the Slovenian National Home-Lipa Park & St. George's Anglican Church. Thank-you to the compassionate staff, Brock Unit at Linhaven, Dr.Wong, Kathryn, the physiotherapy staff & all the people who so lovingly cared for him everyday. A celebration of Edward's life will be held at Bethany Community Church, 1388 Third Street, at 11am on Saturday, March 23, 2013 with visitation taking place one hour prior at Bethany Community Church. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Linhaven Auxiliary or the Bethany Community Church Building Fund.
