Obituary of Marian Isabelle Crabtree

Crabtree, Marian On Sunday, February 3rd, 2013, Marian Crabtree, 81 years, passed away in her home with Ted at her side. Born in Dauphin, MB in 1931 to William and Ethel Blair, Marian was the loving wife of Ted, and dear mother of Joan of Winnipeg, Janice (Tex) of Vancouver, Carol (Matthew) of Carp, and Sharon of Toronto. Marian was the loving grandmother of Joshua (Kimberly), Timothy (Arlene), Jonathan (Melanie), Kalie, Brianna, Nichole and Kaitlyn. She will also be missed by her great grandchildren Aiden, Katie, Heather and Zachary. She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Robert and Gordon, and sisters Leonore Strang and Florence Turnbull. Marian graduated as a Registered Nurse from Dauphin General Hospital, marrying Ted in 1956 in Winnipeg, and subsequently moved to Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Qu�©bec, Oakville, Milton, and finally St. Catharines. She was a member of St. John's Anglican Church in Port Dalhousie and the YMCA. She was a very talented and enthusiastic rug hooker, knitter, and crotcheter. After Ted's retirement from active ministry, Ted and Marian enjoyed a number of trips with Elderhostel and spent many memorable vacations in Barbados and several of the Grenadine Islands. Funeral service will be celebrated at St. John's Anglican Church in Port Dalhousie, on February 7th at 11:00am. Cremation will follow. Memorial remembrances can be made to St. John's Church, the St. Catharines branch of the YMCA, or the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation.
