Rose and Family. Remembering Your Husband, Father and Grandfather.
The things that he did to show you he cared,
The sound of his voice, The wisdom he shared
A piece of advice you'll never forget,
The way that he lived, examples he set.
The work he put in to doing things well,
The places he,d been, The stories he,d tell,
His greatest success that he was proud of,
His hobbies, his passions, his laughter,
his love.
When you think of your Husband, Father and Grandfather, and everything that made him the man he was, his memory lives on through you, the family.
I am so sorry for your loss and my love and thoughts are with all of you. Joan

Dear Kit Family †" Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. I was fortunate to have been taught religious classes by Deacon Kit (now over 35 years ago). This past August, our paths crossed again, and we were fortunate to have him preside over my mother†™s funeral. His kind-hearted words, gentle demeanor and infectious sense of humor are things that we will always remember. He inspired a generation of young people and served as a great role model to everyone.

Deacon John served as a mentor and role model for many of us growing up in the St. Catharines Ukrainian community. As an alter boy at Sts. Cyril and Methodius, I witnessed his dedication and love for the church; as his OAC Ukrainian student, I witnessed his dedication to and love of teaching. In all aspects of his life, Deacon John strived to pass on his knowledge and principles to the younger generation - and he always did so with his trademarked sense of humour. My wife and I were blessed to have him as a celebrant at our wedding. Vichnaia pamiat.

A day in school with Professor Mr. Kit
He would be a few minutes late as someone would stop him in the school to talk to him.He would walk into the classroom very quickly set his brief case down open it up and take a file out to do roll call of the students.
He would apologize for being late as someone stopped him in the hall. He would be dressed the same every two days so you knew what day it was. He always had his eye glasses 1/2 down his nose, he put his hands together waited for the class to stop talking clapped his hands and said "Now children we must begin there is little time to complete the exercises " We had to stop, sit up straight in our chairs ,or there would be punishment for misbehaving in class. Try 500 times lines I must not talk in class on the blackboard and home homework to hand in. Students loved him so much they came back each year just to be with him in Ukrainian Night Courses. He knew when to use his very special accent depending on who he spoke to. A man wearing many hats with funny character personalities. He had such a good memory that I for one could never do anything wrong because he remembered next time he saw you to remind you to shape up.I did class's of typing, pitman shorterhand, business machines, keypunch and data processing, bookkeeping and business law, we laughed after all the hard work was done.We watched him walk through the classes with his brief case, lunch bag, wearing his suit jacket, shirt and tie, baggy suit pants with cuffs and his favourite hush puppy shoes, desert boots, with laces and white socks. That was his style. His hair always combed the same. He wrote on the blackboard while the classmates threw paper from one to the other. He had nerves of steel to cope with the kids in class, but his smile and twinkle in his eye showed the kids, he meant business. Learn or else ,write lines. When the marks came out it was a game with him he secretly told everybody's marks
and talked to each one of us about our class's. He took time for everyone.
We all will miss his ways of teaching but we all do remember all that we learned from him. Thank you from the Sir Winston Churchill students,Ukrainian School Students of St. Catharines.Vichnaya Pamiat.Christine Pidwinski Nebesny.

I had the privilege of knowing Deacon John in a variety of contexts. I sat in on many of his Ukrainian school night classes (when my classes were cancelled) at Sir Winston. I was always welcome as long as I did all of his assigned work and took any tests that were given in class that day. I was honoured when he asked me to serve at his deaconal ordination as an altar boy. He became my vocational inspiration: If he at his age could become a deacon, why couldn†™t I start the process at mine? I will miss his sense of humour, especially during the conversations we shared on the way to "Banduristy" and the banter after many of the services at the parish. He was truly a joy and a blessing to the community. ’іч½°Ñ ¿°¼'ÑÑ‚ÑŒ!

To the family of Mr. Kit.
I haven't seen Mr. Kit in over 25 years but I think of him often. I can see him in my mind perfectly today. He had such a wonderful smile and laugh. Mr. Kit was my grade 10 typing teacher. I was lucky to have him for that course because it meant I was touched by his kindness. For the entire time I was at SWC (long after typing class), he always greeted me in the hallways and took a genuine interest in me and my friends. He has left a real mark on me and clearly the world.
Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss.
