Obituary of Evelyn Joyce Rose

ROSE, Evelyn Joyce (nee Ruddle) September 24, 1928 - February 22, 2013 It is with deep sorrow, with family by her side, we announce the passing of Evelyn Rose at the Ina Grafton Gage Home in St. Catharines in her 85th year. Beloved wife for 60 years of Alan, and loving mother of Stephen (Corrinne), John (Jan) and Michael (Kim). Cherished grandmother to Kathleen, Kevin, Deanna, Sophia, Mathew, Kaitlin, Alex and Marina. She will be missed by sisters Shirley (the late Ross) Chamberlain, Bev (Norm) Belliveau and many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her parents Ernie and Amelia "Millie" Ruddle. Evelyn worked at GM prior to raising her three rambunctious boys. Evelyn always enjoyed trips and get togethers with family and friends. She had a thirst for knowledge and enjoyed reading and taking courses. The family extends sincere thanks to the caring staff of the long term care unit at the Ina Grafton Gage Home. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Wednesday, February 27th from 10:30am to 11:45am. A memorial service will follow in the chapel at 12pm. Inurnment in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Ina Grafton Gage Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
