Obituary of Gerald Alexander Phelan

PHELAN, Gerald Alexander Our brother Gerald, with his customary travelling bags, laden with their secret cargo dangling heavily from the bars, has cycled blissfully skyward. One of the few witnesses to report the sighting has stated that, as he calculatedly, yet leisurely, rotated those spokey wheels, he released his tight grip from the handle bar, at exactly equal intervals, and ever so briskly, waved a sly good---bye, with that faint, knowing grin on his face. God---Speed, Gerald; we will never forget you! Requiescat in Pace! (Ada Paul). At the age of 78, Gerald passed away on Monday, March 4th, 2013. He is one of fourteen children, survived by his sisters Ada Paul, Teresa Romeo and Anne Burtnik. He will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. on Wednesday, March 6th from 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria on Thursday, March 7th at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
