Obituary of Mary Purdie
PURDIE MARY (D'Amico) Passed away peacefully on Sunday January 6th, 2013 at the St. Catharines General Hospital. Predeceased by her beloved husband Thomas. Loving mother of Thomas, Brian, Cathie (Rory) Dempsey. Cherished Grandma and Nana of Tom, Stefanie, Robert, Mark, Melissa and Michelle and wonderful great grandmother to Emma, Rachel, Rory, Landon, and Hannah. Dear sister of Corrine Calder, Jean Patterson, Rose Golchuk, Mike D'Amico, Frank D'Amico and Pauline Tallarico and their families. Predeceased by daughter in law Sara, brothers Joseph, Tony and Don, sisters Grace, Fil, and Lil.
Mary was employed with G M retiring in 1981. She was a member of St. Denis Parish receiving her 60 year pin from the Catholic Women's League.
Mrs. Purdie is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St. until Friday at 9:30 am. Visiting hours are Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Denis Church on Friday at 10 am. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 7p.m. Rite of committal in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations to Diabetes Association or Heidehof Home for the Aged would be appreciated by the family.
