It is said that certain people are sent to us in our lives for good reason. Jim was a gift, the most kind hearted friend that anyone could ask for and we have had the amazing journey of friendship with Jim and Chris bestowed upon us. What a wonderful gift! Always positive, always smiling,so supportive and always available. Jim had such a capability to recognize others talents and to encourage and support. He was always willing to listen. We know that he will hear us now wishing him much peace on his new journey in to the light. Always remembered, always loved...you will be greatly missed...Love Darlene and Terry

Uncle Jimmy
My heart goes out to my auntie Chris and my cousins, their spouses, and children with the great loss of my uncle. Although we did not see each other often, as I live in BC, the times we did see each other were always great. When I was young and came to visit I would get to stay with Uncle Jimmy and Auntie Chris so I could play with my cousins who I didn't see often. Uncle Jimmy was the first person to introduce me to gymnastics. From then on I took gymnastics throughout my childhood. When I came to visit in 2002 Uncle Jimmy took my husband, son and I up to his cabin on the lake for 3 great days. He even took me out on the lake for 3 hours and showed me the locks which was quite the experience.
My heart aches for those left behind for I know that my uncle and my mom are both happy and pain free in heaven.
I will be thinking of all of you thursday morning.

my brother from another Mother...
Jim was, is, and will forever be my brother from another Mother.
From the moment that i met Jim at the Amma program in Detroit years ago, he has had his own zip code in my heart. Forever a YES to life and whatever the moment was offering, he gave of himSelf like the sweetest burning incense. this planet was blessed with his presence, as the otherworlds now are.
May Chris and all of those in Jim's circle of care feel the broadhearted love and support that is coming your way, now and forevermore.
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti. meghan madhavi burke

Laura,
Thinking about you through what I am sure is a very difficult time. I sent a condolence through the newspaper as well but wanted to reach out to you specifically. Your parents were an amazing part of my life and helped me to become somethign today that I am very proud of. I always admired the relationship you had with your dad and had so much respect for his advice and inspiration. I really do think about you often and hope that you have all of the support and friendship you need right now. Whether I see you every day or once every few years please know that if there is anything I can do, I am here. Please give your mom a hug for me.

Mr. Nimeth was a huge part of my life when I was a student at Our Lady of Good Counsel School. He was a great motivator. We had a super sports program and a lot of fun because of his work there. He made us feel important. I thank him for pushing me just a little bit all the time. I have thought of him often and was so sad to hear of his passing. It sounds like he has touched many people in his life and therefore his Life has great meaning. He is someone I will never forget. Thinking of all of you at this difficult time.

Adventure
I would like to honor my father's adventurous spirit. Since I can remember back, adventure was never far from the Nimeth household. Whether it was traveling across Canada to B.C when I was five years of age or, taking a family trip to Africa as a teenager, my dad always seemed to be spearheading a plan to take us somewhere to have a new experience and adventure. He wanted us to not only see but, experience different parts of the world including his latest travel find, Costa Rica. I am so thankful that my dad gave me so many memories in this way. Not a particular story but, a collection of fun stories...too many to tell here. There is so much I can say about my dad, the one thing that sticks out is he did not judge people, including myself who was a single mother at a young age. He supported me and my daughter as well, he never said one negative comment, even though I knew I messed up. I will always appreciate that and never forget it. Thanks dad, for the unique experiences you provided the family with, you were always thinking of a new thing to do and making it a reality. I will miss that so much but, you instilled it in myself and others and I know we will continue the legacy into the next generation. My father is in spirit now experiencing things I can only imagine the sad thing is he could not take me on that journey with him this time. There was a time I wrote a card to my dad, thanking him and God for making him my "earthly" father well he laughed and that saying stuck. So now my "earthly" father and heavenly Father are in the same place, I never imagined that would happen so soon. I miss you so much dad and I will be overjoyed to see again one day,
Love your daughter,
Melanie

The Man Who Knew A Little About Everything!!
I also worked with Jim and Laura at the Water Superstore. Jim and I would always have talks about the meaning of Life (or what I thought Life was about) after talking to Jim I realized I didn't "get Life" at all. I will miss his earnest attempt everytime I worked the day shift to try to beat me into the store to be the first one there to turn the lights on and open the store (he NEVER did ever beat me). He always used to tell me that we had such good people working together and who got along so well it was like a family. Since I have left, I have come to realize it was sooo much more. I will miss his smile, his face, his laughter, and his little rap song that he used to answer the phone with once he knew who it was. I will never be the same since I met him and I will never get over the overwhelming sadness of knowing I will never see him again. No more monthly dropins to chat, or dropping off goodies, or catching up on Life or his many new ideas. God Speed Jim....You will be missed forever. xoxoxo

Determination
When I first started working for Jim it was under the Water Depot title. Every new employee was sent to Water Depot University in Barrie for training. The day of my training Jim was to drive me. There was a massive snow storm and almost everything had been closed for the day. But there he was at 6:30am waiting for me to start the long trek to Barrie. Now, if any of you had ever driven with Jim, you'll understand that in a snow storm, it was one of the most terrifying drives of my life. I thought "this guy must be crazy, why are we risking our lives to do this?" I showed up at university, the only one there. Training got cut early and we were on our way. That's when I realized why we had made the trek. On the way home he wanted to stop at Ikea. His wife, Miss Chris, was in Africa and before she came home he wanted to surprise her with a house remodel...the shelves were an important part of this to him. He was bound and determined to make that moment happen for his wife. Once Jim got an idea into his head, it was impossible to get it out. But in the end, every decision was for the betterment of his family. For 8 years he took me on the wild ride of an enterprising mind. He was dynamic, vivacious, and everything I ever saw him do was with unwavering determination. I will miss him but I will honour the fact that mourning wasn't really part of his DNA. He loved life and trusted in the after life. So to my Sir, "Thank you for teaching me that risks can be seen as positives, that change is what we all must do, always, to see the best in people (that's all he could ever see, sometimes didn't work in the hiring process!), thank you for teaching me to embrace life, to live life to the fullest. I love you and I will see you on the other side."
