Obituary of Josephine Fitzpatrick

FITZPATRICK, Josephine "Jo" Josephine Fitzpatrick of St. Catharines, a native of Ten Mile House in Prince Edward Island, passed away peacefully at Linhaven Home for the Aged on Thursday, January 3, 2013 in her 81st year. She is survived by her sisters Laura (Reg) Power, Bernie Koughan, and Thelma MacDonald; brother Leonard (Anne); and sisters-in-law Myrtle Fitzpatrick and Viola Fitzpatrick, all of Prince Edward Island. She was predeceased by her parents John and Winnifred Fitzpatrick; brothers Milton, Edward, Vernon, and Leo; and sisters Erna Linde, Kathleen White, Eleanor Dougan, and Frances. She will be remembered lovingly by her devoted longtime friends, and her many nieces and nephews. Jo taught in elementary school for over 30 years in the Niagara Catholic District School Board and also volunteered extensively in the community. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Collins, Lonnie, Georgina, and the staff at Linhaven for their kindness and compassion. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Sunday, January 6th from 1-5 p.m. Jo will then be brought to Prince Edward Island, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at a later date at St. Bonaventure†™s Roman Catholic Church, Tracadie. Interment to follow at St. Bonaventure†™s Church Cemetery. If so desired, memorial contributions in Jo†™s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
