Obituary of Ruth Ellen Hamilton

HAMILTON, RUTH ELLEN (nee Baker) July 2, 1925 †" December 16, 2012 Peacefully on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at the age of 87 with her loving family by her side. Ruth was predeceased on September 1, 2012 by her devoted husband of 63 years, Bob. She will be sadly missed by her son Bill (Jocelyne), daughter Robin (Jeff), grandchildren Jonathan, Justin, Kimberly and Jessica (Stalin) as well as by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her cherished sisters Alice, Lottie, Bea, Mickie, Jan and brother Clark. Born and raised in Upper Chelsea, Nova Scotia, Ruth served in the RCAF during WWII. In 1952, she co-founded R. W. Hamilton Ltd. Industrial Distributors in St. Catharines with her husband. Ruth†™s compassionate nature was always in evidence, whether she was dealing with family and friends or involved in various volunteer activities. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton Street in St. Catharines on Friday, December 21, 2012 from 3 †" 5 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 5 pm in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Lung Association would be appreciated.
