My Memories of Lillian
My memories of Lillian go back quite a ways; to the days of babysitting her children. I remember that one of the children in particular was upset at Mom leaving, so it was the promise the Oma and Opa would be coming by to visit that gave them some reassurance that Mom could leave. It may have been Johnny, but it has been a while now and my memory is not as good as it used to be! I learned that night what Oma and Opa meant to Lillian's children and how much they loved their Mother.
The other memory is of Lillian's association with music and the musicals that she conducted at Central. It is great that some of them have been posted to youtube because for several years I lived in Hamilton and my own church Bethel put on their own musicals at Christmas and Easter, so I was not always able to see them, so I shall enjoy them now. I also know how much my Dad enjoyed playing in the orchestra, under Lillian's leadership.
My heart goes out to you all who are grieving; her husband David, her children and their spouses and all her grandchildren who will miss their Nana and to her siblings Mary and Rudy and we will be continuing to pray for you in the coming days.
"To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." This is a verse that resonates with me and I hope it brings a bit of encouragement to all who are grieving for Lillian at this time. Our deepest sympathies.
