Dear Peter,
After returning from our vacation, we were stunned to find out the sad news about your dad. We still cannot believe that he has passed on, so unexpectedly. However, as they say, the one who is adored the most by God, is the one who achieves eternal life. We will miss the laughter, stories and jovial attitude your Dad always had, when we showed up at the office. We will cherish all the happy memories we had with him. Please accept our sincere condolences.
May he rest in peace,
Mike and Penny Mayer

My most sincere condolences to Janet and the family. While I haven't seen Peter in some time, I have many good memories from our days growing up in Kingston, our families cottaging together on Henderson's Point and then at "The Breakers", singing in the St George's choir when Peter was assistant music director and attending Camp Mazinaw in the summers where Peter played all the great camp songs on the piano. He will be missed.

Peter was a wonderful kind and generous person. We, the congregation of St. Stephen's Anglican Church in Vankoughnet, appreciated his musical virtuosity and his kindness when he played the keyboard for our services during the season in our tiny Chapel. Peter's warmth and vitality made him a delight to know. His skill on the keyboard was outstanding.
Peter had planned to play for us at our Thanksgiving Sunday service on October 7. He told me he had intended to pop into his office on the Thursday morning and then head to his cottage in Longford for a family celebration. On the evening of Saturday October 6 we learned that Peter had died suddenly. We remembered Peter and his family in our prayers at the Sunday service and gave thanks for his life so well lived.
To Mrs. Partridge and Peter's family please know he will be missed and remembered fondly by all of us at St. Stephen's. We only wish we had the opportunity to know this remarkable man better.

A truly wonderful person.

Janet, Peter Jr. and John,
The sudden loss of your wonderful husband and father is heart-breaking! Peter was such a kind, generous man and I always enjoyed our chats as next door neighbours. I am also grateful that Peter took an interest in Graham's theatre work. His support for the arts - both large and small - is truly his legacy. We are all the richer for knowing Peter and he will live on in the music he so dearly loved. My thoughts and prayers are will all of you.

Thank you Mr. Partrige!
I moved to St. Catharines 15 years ago in part to enjoy Chorus Niagara. It was extremely frustrating to not have a good venue to let the potential of this magnificent choir shine. In spite of all the political
and financial roadblocks you made PAC a reality. I am thankful every time I attend a concert or film there and send a prayer of thanksgiving to you when I am “transported” by beautiful music in Partrige Hall.
May you enjoy conducting choruses of angels for eternity.
Heartfelt sympathy to the family on your profound loss.

I am grateful for the opportunity to have known Peter which turned out to be unexpectedly late in his life. When we first met in the first meeting of the Rodman Hall Coalition, he immediately spoke to me of my mother, whom he had directed in a Benjamin Britten work at Ridley College many years ago. His brilliant smile was always a gift.

I first met Peter in the summer of 1966 when we were both students at the Department of Education's Summer School for Music Teachers. Don, Peter and I shared much laughter about those early days. Throughout his life Peter did much to advance the vital importance of great music in our world as a performer, Board Member, supporter, very generous donor, and audience member. An optimist with a zest for life, it was always a joy to have a good conversation with him. He will be sorry missed, and Don and I send our deepest condolences to Janet, Pete, John and their families.

I first met Peter while a student at Ridley College and a member of the chapel choir. This man had a major impact on my love of choral music and I am still singing in a men's chorus today.
My memories are plentiful of this wonderful man. Of course all the members of the school wondered what this new music master would be like. At his first morning chapel service in 1964 we were amazed to see this young man at the organ. The recessional was the theme to a current James Bond movie "THUNDERBALL". That caught everyone's attention !! And he continued to expose us to new and different genres of music. He challenged us .
I was indeed fortunate to have Peter in my life. Years later while singing in Christ Church Elbow Park Choir in Calgary I met his bother John Partridge, also a member of the choir who became a good friend while we lived there.
Small world.
My condolences to Janet and their boys. He was a sparky guy with a zest for life !!

Thank you, Peter, for a lifetime of doing well and doing good. Your enormous contribution to the arts will be long remembered. I recall with great fondness the summer of '67. I was on my way to conducting studies in Germany. I spent that summer as a relief announcer at CKTB, a Burgoyne radio station. Peter and Janet and I spent many happy hours talking about music and plotting our takeover of the music world. To Janet and the family, my deepest condolences. Grieve Peter's loss, and celebrate his memory. We are all the richer for his having lived among us. Howard Dyck, C.M.

I have often been in a room where community organizations are being discussed, reinvigorated or funded, where the modest yet determined Peter Partridge was present. He was a gift to Brock University and to St. Catharines and his legacy is all around us. Although he was not a personal friend, I respected and admired him. Thank you to Peter for living life as he did with warmth and glory; I believe all of us who work in the arts and with youth in St. Catharines, will miss him greatly.
