Obituary of Barbara Anne Marquis (nee Samuels)

Marquis, Barbara (nee Samuels) - After a long and brave fight with her illness, she passed away at the St. Catharines General Hospital on July 27, 2017 at the age of 71. Loving wife to Ken for over 46 years. Devoted mom to Paul (Cheryl Henderson) and Melissa (Matt Blundell). Adored Grandma to Sam and Lexi. Survived by her sister Janet (Dave) Blundell. Will be sadly missed by her beloved family members, special friend Maureen Dunn, and many close friends. Predeceased by her parents Bill and Catherine and sister Sandra. Barbara was well known in Western Hill, where she grew up and lived throughout her life. She also worked with the Catholic School Board for over 20 years. 

Family will be received at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. Vigil prayers will be said in the funeral home at 3:45 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Monday at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 169 St. Paul Crescent at 11a.m. with cremation to follow. Memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke or Lung Association in Barbara's honour.
