Obituary of Joseph Charles Adams

It is with great sadness to announce that after a lifetime of adventures and in his 71st year, Joseph Charles Adams peacefully passed on from this earth, following a courageous battle with leukemia, on Tuesday, March 5th 2024 with the love of his life, Angela J. Passero Adams, at his side at the Greater Niagara General Hospitalalong with friends and cousins.  During Joe's illness, he faced various health issues, and sadly, his wife Angela witnessed a gradual fading of the Joe she knew.

Joe, a kind and passionate man with an upbeat personality, was a great husband to Angela and a devoted pet owner to his three Yorkshire terriers Doodle, Butch, and Sophia.  Joe would do anything for anyone, he was loved and will be missed by his wife Angela, his pets, numerous friends, neighbours and work colleagues.

Born November 18th 1953 to parents Norm and the late Barbara Adams, Joe graduated from Collegiate High School of St. Catharines, Ontario and in that time joined the St. Catharines Rowing Club and won many races as a single sculler.  Joe was a proud member of a marching band and played the trumpet.

During Joe's early years, he worked in electronics and HVAC. His steadfast interests led him to HAM Amateur Radio (VE3BW), where he became one of the top operators in Canada. Joe loved antique cars, British being his favourite and Sundays, in the summer, he was excited to go to car shows with his wife Angela.  Joe was a brilliant fire investigator with numerous credentials and certificates. Joe owned and operated Adventure Scuba and Water Sports for many years until his adventurous spirit was matched alongside Angela.  Joe and Angela got married in their dream destination on the beautiful beaches of Costa Rica.

In his successful 30-year career at Enbridge Gas Distribution, Joe held various roles, including training and operations supervisor. He spent a decade as a highly respected Fuels Safety Inspector at the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA). His impactful contributions enhanced public and worker safety, reducing incidents and his efforts helped in saving lives. For the final ten years of his career, Joe was a very valuable and highly respected member of Origin and Cause specializing as a fire investigator where he conducted more than 200 fire and explosion investigations.

To mourn Joe and his cherished and devoted spouse of 19 years, Angela J. Passero Adams, a final farewell tribute will be held at a later date. Joe will be remembered lovingly by his wife Angela, family and many friends.  Angela wishes to extend her heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and team at the Great Niagara General Hospital.
