Elisabeth Jabs (nee Flach) passed away peacefully on Saturday March 2nd, 2024 surrounded by family. Elisabeth was born in Neiderlahnstein West Germany on November 1, 1935. She did an apprenticeship for mandatory domestic labour and then studied business. She worked with her father in the family business- a butcher shop, until she moved to Canada in 1953. There she met Alfred Jabs and they married on January 30, 1955. They were blessed with two children, Reinhard and Christine. Alfred was very active in the New Apostolic Church, and Elisabeth was his unwavering support. 

Elisabeth was predeceased by her parents Emil Flach and Gertrude Flach (nee: Franzen), her husband Alfred, her brother Karl and her son Reinhard. Elisabeth is survived by her sister Marianne, her daughter Christine (Dave), her daughter–in-law Sylvia (Steve), her grandchildren Michelle (Andrew), Rachel (John), Timothy (Kathleen), Jennifer (Matthew) and Joshua (Heather), and 13 great grandchildren.

The family wishes to express its gratitude to all of our friends, neighbours, ministers and fellow members of the New Apostolic Church for your care, visits, and many prayers. We specially wish to thank each and every member of our Heidehof family for their outstanding care, compassionate palliative care and support in Elisabeth’s final years.

In keeping with Elisabeth’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

The George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines will host a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, April 6th at 12 pm in the chapel, officiated by District Evangelist Graham Stanford. A light lunch and fellowship will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Apostolic Church Canada or Alzheimer’s Society.
