Our hearts ache to announce the passing of Christiana Odofoley (Nortey) Fixon-Owoo. A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles. Christiana passed away in the evening of Thursday, February 1st at the age of 57. Loving mother to Karol, Brittney and Jayden. Dear daughter to Francis Narh and Sofia Adeukwei (Vanderpuije) Nortey. Cherished sister to Frederick, Thomas Akwesi, Nii Nortei, Alfred Nii Narh, Benjamin Nii Anum, Felix Nii (Bibio), Matilda and Miriam Nortey. She will be deeply remembered and missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, church and community members.

Christiana immigrated to Canada in 1998 with a baby in her arms and the clothes on her back. She worked for 23 years as a Senior Laboratory Analyst at E3 Laboratories (Niagara-On-The-Lake). She was a member of Royal House Redeemed Christian Church of God (St. Catharines) for over a decade. 

She was a God-fearing, phenomenal person and always cared more for others than herself. From her times at the St. Catharines Farmer’s Market, the African Association Open Houses and the 23 Squadron Air Cadet Mess Dinners, she lived to serve others. In her last months on Earth’s side, she enjoyed a wonderful life with her children and her legacy will continue to live on through them.
