Obituary of Nancy Jane Kirkpatrick
KIRKPATRICK, Nancy Jane – Peacefully passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024 in her 89th year. Beloved best friend of Valerie Plata for over 46 years; loving sister to Jackie Joll and the late Shirley Haakman; the best aunt to Linda McLellan, Cathy (Larry) Mallabar, Ron Joll, Bonnie Joll, Debbie (Peter) Tyminski, Dianne (Bert) Pals, and Christine (Don) Grosskurth.
Family and friends were very important to Nancy. She cherished spending time with those she loved, laughing and having fun. She loved gardening, golfing, photography and travelling – the French River was one of her favourite places to relax and enjoy nature. Later in life, she spent her time scrapbooking many of her memories.
Nancy started working at Court Radiator at the age of 16. She dedicated her entire working career to the Court Group of companies for over 50 years. She was well respected, extremely valued, and helped everyone – she was always generous with her time and knowledge.
Nancy was strong, independent, kind, loving, and patient. She will be greatly missed.
The family wishes to thank the incredible nurses and doctors at the Port Colborne Hospital. They went above and beyond, and we are grateful for their compassion. They are truly an exceptional group of caregivers.
Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Thursday, February 1st from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Nancy’s life will be held on Friday, February 2nd at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Following the service she will be laid to rest at St. Davids-Queenston United Church Cemetery.
