Obituary of Gertrude Cahill

CAHILL, Gertrude (nee Doucette)

Passed away peacefully on Monday, August 21, 2017 in her 95th year at the Eventide Home in Niagara Falls. She will be dearly missed by her sister, Rebecca Reid (nee Doucette). Predeceased by her loving parents Patrick and Mary as well as her brothers Fred, Lester and Raymond Doucette. Beloved wife of the late Robert Michael Cahill (1995) Dearly Loved Ma and Mom to the late Carl (2010), Mary Tucci and Doreen Green. Cherished Grandma to Theresa, Cameron, Erin, Lindsay (1989), Ashley, Sean, Meaghan, Bethany, Brittany, Connor and great grandchildren. She will also be missed by nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Her smile and joyful spirt was felt by many and will surely be missed. She was a kind and giving woman to all. We would like to thank Renée Clarke and the staff at Eventide Home for their care and compassion throughout her stay and during her final journey to be with the Lord. Visitation will take place at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 10am to 12pm with a Funeral Liturgy Outside of Mass to follow at 12p.m.. Cremation to take place following the service. Memorial donations may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Church or Eventide Home.
