Obituary of Mary Penney (nee Sorkopud)

Penney , Mary (nee Sorkopud) - Passed away peacefully on Saturday April 15, 2017 in her 95th year. Mary was predeceased by her devoted son Jerry, husband Don Anderson, as well as her 9 siblings. Will be sadly missed by her daughter-in-law Hedy and niece Beverly Groeneveld. Always remembered as a loving and doting Baba to her grandchildren Trish and Mark (Tania). Proud great grandmother to Cohen, Braeden and Kyle. Survived by many cherished family members. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Chartwell Niagara Nursing Home for the excellent care, compassion and countless smiles that they provided Mary during her stay. Family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Friday May 5, 2017 between 1:30 - 4:30 pm, with a memorial service to follow at 4:30 pm in the funeral home. Cremation has taken place. A private burial will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer Society in honour of Mary.
