Obituary of Liliane Hedemann

Liliane Marguerite Françoise Hedemann of St. Catharines, ON passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, March 16, 2017. She was surrounded by family, friends, her doctor and palliative care nurses. Liliane was born in Paris, France, the daughter of the late Marius and Marguerite Dupin. She is predeceased by her husband, Hans and her son, Erik. Liliane is survived by her daughter Viviane (John Violette) and her daughter-in-law Karen (Acaster) Hedemann. She is also adored and cherished by family members in France, Denmark, U.S.A and Australia. She was the beloved sister of Jean (Jeannine) Dupin (St. Maur, France) and Simone Dupin (Marseille, France). Liliane touched the hearts of many. She was forever positive, strong and was an inspiration to her close friends and family. She led life with dignity, style, elegance and "joie de vivre". Dinner and garden parties were cherished moments with inspiring and interesting discussions. She so enjoyed to travel and always made it her priority to visit family in France, enjoying to host them in return. We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to our family doctor, Dr. Kelada-Sedra for her loving care and exceptional support for Liliane. Our gratitude also goes to Dr. Giesbrecht, Dr. Kobylecky and CCAC Care Coordinator Nora Bridges for her and her team's dedication and compassion. We also thank the team of nurses for their care, support and respect for us all. Liliane, maman chérie, continue ton beau pèlerinage avec tous ceux qui t'attendent et qui t'aiment tant...on t'aime infiniment. Her family will be present for visitation on Friday, March 24 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL at 585 Carlton St, St. Catharines, ON, L2M 4Y1. A ceremony will be held immediately following visitation at 1:00 PM, followed by refreshments and light snacks from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
