Obituary of Ann Bridget Skehin

SKEHIN, Ann Bridget (née O’Neill) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mother on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at the age of 89 at Linhaven Nursing home in St. Catharines. Beloved Wife of the late James Skehin. Loving Mom to Rita, Dennis, Mary, Michael and the late Jimmy. Grandma to Andrew and Matthew. Ann will be deeply missed by all her extended family in Ireland and the United States. Ann was born in a large family of 13 in Ireland and emigrated to Canada but kept her Irish roots. Ann met the love of her life Jim in Toronto where they started their family. They moved to St. Catharines where her husband Jim accepted a job as Superintendent of Education in the Catholic School System. They settled in to family life on Byrne Blvd. where they lived and raised their family for over 30 years. The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Linhaven Nursing Home as well as the Royal Henley Retirement Residence. The loving care she received was exceptional and much appreciated by the family. Guests are welcome to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., for visitation on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 10a.m.-12p.m. A Funeral Liturgy Outside of Mass will be held in the funeral home chapel following visitation at 12p.m. A Rite of Committal will follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, Queenston St. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
