Obituary of Kathleen McGrath

McGrath, Kathleen (Kitty): On Monday July 6, 2009, at the St. Catharines General Hospital in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the Late Joseph McGrath. Loving mother of Michael (Wanda), and Coletta (Ellis) McGrath. Cherished Nana to Gavin (Andrea), Brett, and Evan (Maddison). Kitty is survived by her sisters Maureen Culligan, and Tess Clancy, her brother John, sister in law Mary Atkins, many nieces and nephews and their families, as well as her special cousins and friends. Predeceased by her parents Michael and Mary, brother Michael, and brothers in law Tom Culligan, Tom Clancy. She immigrated to Canada in 1953. An avid member of Star of the Sea Church. She was a past president of the Parrishs' C.W.L., also belonging to the stitching sisters, the star stitchers, and the Hotel Dieu Auxillary. Kitty is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday July 9, 2009 from 2-4 and 7 -9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be 7:30 p.m.Thursday evening . The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday July 10, 2009 at the Star of the Sea Church at 10:30 a.m., with interment to follow at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery.
