Obituary of Father Joseph Thomas Mahoney

MAHONEY, Father Joseph Thomas- Passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Hospice Niagara. Beloved son of the late Bartholomew (Bert) and Mary Elizabeth (May) Mahoney. Dear brother of the late Father Bernard Mahoney. Father Joseph was ordained by James Cardinal McGuigan on May 26, 1945. He served at several parishes in the Archdiocese of Toronto and the Diocese of St. Catharines and Episcopal Vicar to the Hispanic Community of the Diocese. A sincere thank you to the staff at Tufford Manor and Hospice Niagara for all their care and compassion. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, (905) 937-4444. Visitation will be held at the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria on Sunday, March 14 from 2 6 p.m. Vigil prayers will take place on Sunday at 3 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, March 15 at the Cathedral from 9 11a.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria on Monday, March 15 at 1:30 p.m. Rite of Committal at Holy Cross Cemetery in Thornhill on Tuesday March 16.
