Obituary of Mitchell Kalagian

Kalagian, Mitchell (Rug King) - On February 4, 2010 suddenly at his residence in his 83rd year. Predeceased by his loving wife Shirley (2008) for 56 years. Loving and cherished father of Janice Luey (David Wells) of Cambridge, Carol, and Nancy Nunn (Ted) both of St. Catharines. Devoted Papa of Justin,Todd (Christina), Eden, Livv, Faith and great-Papa of Carter, Scarlett and Tate. Survived by his brother Richard (Judy), brother-in-laws Richard Hoogasian and Donald Gray (Ruth), sister-in-law Bernice and many nieces, nephews and close friends. Prior to his passing, Mitchell was very active in his rug business for over 57 years. He worked side by side with his wife Shirley in the family business and was a very devoted and caring family man. Mr. Kalagian is resting at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street until 9:30am on Monday. Visiting hours are Sunday 2-4 and 7-9pm. A celebration of Mitchell's life will be held in the funeral home at 10am on Monday. Rite of Committal will take place at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery. Memorial remembrances may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Hospice Niagara in Mitchell's memory.
