Obituary of Alexander Alexson

ALEXSON, Alexander 1935-2009 Passed away July 31, 2009, in hospital, the result of a tragic accident on July 13, 2009. Beloved husband of Colleen for 52 years. Loving father of Brian (Trina) Alexson and Joanne (John) Sterling. Cherished grampa to Donna and Jay, Morgan and Holly, Alexander and Adelaide. Dear brother of John (Melvina) Alexson, Pauline Chliwny, Ella Karr, Anne Antcliffe, Stella Enge, Jennie Londry and Mollinda Alexson. Alex is also survived by his dear friends sister in law Leone and her husband Dr. Robert Stubbins, sister in law Betty Appel and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his daughter Diane (Bruce) Rose (1996), sister Mary Lipka and sister in law Jean Roszell. Born and raised in Saskatchewan, he moved to Toronto in 1954. After a career in the electronics industry, Alex established his own successful business. He retired in 1997, and with Colleen, moved to their lakeside home north of Orillia. In 2003 they relocated to the warmer climate of St. Catharines. Alex's first love was for his family. He also had a great attachment to nature and spent many hours enjoying gardens and birds. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 from 3-5 p.m.. A private family memorial will be held the following day. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
