
Obituary of Kenneth David Thiessen
On Thursday, February 13 2025 at the age of 79, Kenneth David Thiessen passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at the St. Catharines General Hospital. Ken was a wonderful, son, husband, father, brother and friend. He is survived by his beloved spouse and best friend of 33 years, Sharon Thiessen (nee Manley) and his children, Debra, David, Kori and Jeff and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, Gerry (Linda), Rick, Marcy (Al), Brenda and Greg (Bonny). Ken is predeceased by his parents, Dave and Jennie (nee Wiebe). Also to remember Ken are his many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Born in Altona Manitoba and raised in Winnipeg, Ken enjoyed a successful lifelong career in the Transportation and Logistics Industry, eventually retiring in Niagara. He was a Canadian Champion and Black Belt in Taekwondo, had a passion for Harley Davidson’s and was an amazing dog-dad to his two German Shepherds, Dante and Buddy.
In keeping with his wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME. Cremation has taken place and if desired, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in memory of Ken.
