So much love to my dear friend Ann Tierney and her husband David and all their dear family. I did not have the privilege of meeting Mr. Tierney but I did have the pleasure of hearing many stories about him and how wonderful father he was in the years that Ann and I shared a house at Queens. She was so proud of her dad and so proud of her entire loving family and their Irish heritage. It always resonated with me as a proud Newfoundlander and so many common cultural roots.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of uncle Ed. He was such a kind and joyful soul always wearing such a great smile. I will always remember him dancing with aunt Sheila, moving gracefully around the dance floor with such happiness.

I feel great sadness to hear about the death of Mr. Tierney. He became my boss when he was hired by the Catholic school board back in the early to mid 80s, the best boss I ever had. He always treated me and everyone we worked with, with respect and kindness and almost always with a smile on his face. He was ahead of his time with his respect for women in general. His love for his wife Sheila and his children was often expressed. He was so proud of all of you and never passed up an opportunity to talk about you. It doesn’t matter how old your parents are when you lose them it is always too soon. Sending prayers for all of you.
