Obituary of Karen Lynn Webb

Karen Lynn Webb

June 5, 1948 - February 8, 2025

Karen passed away suddenly on February 8, 2025 at St. Catharines General Hospital, surrounded by her family.

A lifelong volunteer, avid reader, lover of the Arts and friend to all, Karen was always ready with a smile and a kind word for everyone who crossed her path.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend who dedicated many hours to the things she cared so much about: early education and children's literacy, community outreach initiatives and involvement with her church.

From volunteering to read with students at the local elementary school and teaching Sunday school for many years, to writing encouraging lunchbox notes to children (a volunteer opportunity she started a few weeks before her passing), she touched so many lives with her love, care and compassion.

She cherished her friendships and always made time for her loved ones. As a single mom who was lovingly supported by her community while raising her kids, she knew the importance of helping others. She was quick to welcome newcomers to her church, drop off food to a sick friend or a gift for a new baby, and check in on someone who was feeling down.

She leaves behind her sister Kristine Colby, daughters Jennifer Taylor (Howie) and Lisa Pedersen (Kirk), and four amazing grandchildren: Hayden, Ella, Brendan and Brady.

Karen was so proud of her family; she enjoyed every minute of their hockey and soccer games, music performances, school plays and more.

She will be deeply missed by all who loved her and whose lives she touched.

Karen's wish was for her friends and family to celebrate her life, and that is just what we will do.

We will come together for her celebration of life on Saturday April 26th, 2025 at 11:00am at St. Catharines Church of Christ (439 Ontario Street, St. Catharines). Bright colours, warm memories and happy stories are welcome.
