Obituary of Henrietta Edith Steers
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Henrietta Steers (Gagne) at Niagara Gardens on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at the age of 89. Predeceased by her devoted husband Douglas Steers and big brother John Gagne. Much loved sister of Micheline Wallace (the late George) and Claude Gagne (Dorothy). Known as Yaya, Yaya will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews and cousins in Ontario and Quebec.
Henrietta loved her family and friends; was a great listener, a fun companion, and a wise advisor. Henrietta retired from GM after more than three decades of service to the teams she supported. Henrietta had a zest for life and enjoyed knitting, socializing, cooking, looking after people, and spoiling her dogs. The family would like to thank the staff at Niagara Gardens for their care and compassion.
Visitors will be received at George Darte Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 585 Carlton St, St. Catharines on Monday, February 10, 2025 from 11am. A Final Tribute to Henrietta will follow at 1pm in the Ceremony Room. Private Interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Donations may be made to Diabetes Canada, the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society in Henrietta's memory would be appreciated by her family.
