
Obituary of Rose Domaradz
Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Rose Domaradz (nee Sloik) passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025 at age 97.
Left to mourn her passing are her daughters Faye and Wilma (Ray); grandchildren Colin (Tracy), Alison (Jeff), Ann (Jonathan), Christy (Winston), Erin (Kyle), Kenneth (Kristi), grandson-in-law Tom; great-grandchildren Kalen, Mason, Jayda, Carter, Sadie, Mya, Spencer, Bode, Jacob, Lola, Miles, Tristan, Kali and Sami; sister Stella, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rose was predeceased by her husband Dmytro (Matt), daughter Carol and granddaughter Stacey, sisters Helen and Effie, brothers-in-law Ted, Herb and Bill, and parents Michael and Anna.
Rose (Granny, Baba) was born on April 24, 1927, in Portage la Prairie, MB. She was raised on a farm near Rossendale, MB, where she attended Ferris school. Rose was an active member of St. John Ukrainian Catholic Church in St. Catharines for more than 30 years where she volunteered in the kitchen making and selling perogies, cabbage rolls and pies. Rose curled for the St. Catharines Curling Club Women’s League for many years.
The family would like to thank the staff at Henley House for their care during Rose’s time there and the George Darte Funeral Home staff for their courteous and professional management of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Humane Society, Greater Niagara and Therapy Tails.
Visitation will be held at George Darte Funeral Home on Sunday, February 2 from 2-4 followed by a service at the funeral home on Monday, February 3 at 11 a.m. Officiated by Father Anton Szymychalski, with an Interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
