Obituary of John Henry Antonczyk Jr (Jasiu)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather John Antonczyk JR. who left us peacefully surrounded by his family on December 24th, 2024 at the age of 83. John was a loving and devoted husband to Grazina. They shared a beautiful marriage that spanned 58 years, marked by love, dedication, and unwavering support. He was a loving, caring and devoted father to his daughters Diane, (Maurizio) Stephanie (Rob) Joanne (Vaughan) and former son-in-law, Frank. Loving and caring grandfather of Matthew, Kristina, Anthony, Serena, Sara and Andrew. John was born in St. Catharines to his predeceased parents John and Bronislawa Antonczyk SR. He was a loving brother predeceased by Helen and his brother-in-law, Walter Swol. Loving son in law predeceased by Helen and Edward Majkut from Welland. Cherished brother-in-law to Ted and Lynda Majkut of Welland, and Irene and Kevin Smith of St. Catharines. John worked at Ferranti Packard Transformer Factory in St. Catharines for 40 Years until his retirement, where he continued to travel with the love of his life Grazina. John and Grazina travelled to John's favourite island, Hawaii, many times and also to the islands in the Caribbean. John ended up going to a Polka dance in Welland at the polish hall where he asked Grazina to dance, from that day forward they danced every weekend together for the last 58 years with love and respect. John was a very kind and gentle soul who loved to talk and meet new people. He had many close friends that will deeply miss him, including many nieces and nephews especially his niece Kathy who always would remember his birthday every year. John was a lifetime member at Our Lady of Perpetual Help where he assisted as an eucharistic minister and helped with collections. He was also a member of the Canadian Polish Society on Facer Street in St. Catharines.
John, we will miss you dearly. You are now our angel in heaven watching over us.
In honouring John’s wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. The family will receive guests for visitation on Monday, December 30th from 2:00pm- 4:00pm Second visitation at 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Vigil prayers at 6:00pm with Mass following on December 31st 11:00 am at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 5 Oblate Street, St. Catharines. With a burial to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
