Obituary of Florence Clara Billard
BILLARD, Florence - Passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, December 24th 2024 with family at her side at the age of 92. Now reunited with her beloved late husband, Doug Billard. Cherished mother to Scott (Joyce) Bartlett, Ike Bartlett, Jim (Patricia) Bartlett and Douglas (Melissa) Billard; doting grandmother of James, John-Scott, Emma, Adam, Edward, Katie, Tyler, Keegan, Brianna, Jessica, Noelle, Ryan and Emily; Great-grandparent of Aden, Reed, Cedar, Everly and Jack. Survived by brother Seaward and sisters Vivian, Marie, Eileen and Edith. To mourn the loss of Florence is her family in Newfoundland. Florence is predeceased by her first husband, Alfred “Jim” Bartlett, parents Wilfred and Ida Billard and sister Dolcie Bond.
Raised in the small outport of Grand Bruit, Newfoundland and left to be a caregiver at the Halifax County Hospital where she worked for many years before making her way to Thorold and continued her work with Linhaven Long-Term Care often volunteering on her free time.
In keeping with Florence’s wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines. The family welcomes guests for a time of visitation on Monday, December 30th from 11:00am – 1:00pm followed by a funeral service to be held in the funeral home ceremony room at 1:00pm. A burial at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow. If desired, please consider memorial donations to Pathstone Mental Health in honour of Florence.
