On behalf of the Hage's(north)...Our condolences to all of the Traynor family during these troubled times. I've only had a handful of deep discussions with Barb but the last conversation was powerful indeed. My time lately in Niagara is spiratic, so any chances on having good conversations sometimes are limited only to when Oscar is cooking on the BBQ outside..LOL.
We are so sorry for your loss but she was a wonderful person that my parents absolutely loved and adored and I'm sure her students also appreciate her unique Irish background and perspective.. I appreciate those moments I had with her and looking foward to seeing everyone tomorrow...all the best..YOPIE, DEBRA, Olivia and Ethan!.

So sorry to hear! She was a great neighbor. MOM would be on the phone with her many times a day! I loved her accent and she always remembered my children at Christmas time. Doll

Mrs. Traynor,
It's been over 50 years since I sat in your classroom at Holy Rosary School, but the impact you've had on my life has never faded. I just heard that you passed away this week, and I felt compelled to write this tribute to you.
You were tough and strict, that's for sure. But underneath that stern exterior was a teacher who truly cared. You saw something in me that I couldn't see in myself back then. I wasn't the best student academically, but you never gave up on me. Instead, you taught me something far more valuable than any subject – you taught me to respect myself and to chase my dreams, no matter how big they seemed.
Thanks to your encouragement, I dared to dream big. You wouldn't believe where life has taken me, Mrs. Traynor. I've traveled the world, just like I always wanted. I even went on to complete two PhDs and worked at the United Nations. And through it all, I've built a family I'm proud of. None of this would have been possible without the foundation you helped me build.
You pushed me to be better, to reach higher, and to believe in myself. When I doubted, your voice was there in the back of my mind, urging me forward. You didn't just teach lessons from books; you taught life lessons that stuck with me through every challenge and triumph.
We met by chance about 15 years ago - You weren't just a teacher, Mrs. Traynor. You were an inspiration, a guiding light, and in many ways, a life-changer.
Thank you, Mrs. Traynor, from the bottom of my heart. For believing in me, for pushing me, and for helping shape me into the person I am today. Your legacy lives on in every life you touched, including mine.
Rest in peace, Mrs. Traynor. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
With eternal gratitude,
David

I was very sorry to hear of your mother’s death. All of you spoke very well of her over the years. She sounded like a lovely woman (and tough, given the stories of teaching in Belfast).

Barbara was my best friend. We shared so many happy times and funny times together from a driving lesson where she drove us into a ditch, to noticing in church that her dress was on inside out! Her students are a testimony to her wisdom and her family a testament to her love. I'm comforted to know she is finally united with Robbie: death separated them and has now reunited them.
