It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our great Lorenzo Falzoi in his 92nd year of life. nicknamed by his siblings and friends as “il Leone” aka “The Lion” for his tremendous strength. Lorenzo was a long time resident of the town of Niagara on the Lake, Ontario. He was the son of the late Giovanna Antonia Chessa and the late Salvatore Falzoi Devoted and caring Husband of the late Mariantonia Ozzana (1963) and the late Luisa Ozzana-Falzoi (2010) Loving father of Nello (Anna), Gavino (Dennise), Maria (Tony) Caring brother to Pietro (Gavina), Mario (Antonietta), Peppina (Mimma), Tonio (Giovana), and Piera (Elio). Adoring Nonno of Jeremiah, Giovanni (Christina), Sarah, Marc, Lorenzo and Annalisa and proud BisNonno to Gavin, Sadie and Maximus. Lorenzo was also the beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews. Lorenzo was born on August 12th, 1930 in Ozieri, Sardegna Italy. He immigrated to France in 1947 in search for work. He became a coal miner for five years and became fluent in French. He then immigrated to Canada, arriving in Quebec and found a job as a gold miner in Kirkland Lake. Continuing in search for prosperity and expanding his love for languages, Lorenzo then moved to Toronto, learned to speak English and built a large successful painting company. During this time, he fell in love with his first wife and became a loving and devoted father to two beautiful sons. It was with great sadness when lost his beloved Mariantonia at a very young age. His suffering beloved wife asked a promise of her sister, Luisa, to please care for her sons upon her death. It was then that Lorenzo asked his devoted sister-in-law if she would agree give up her successful career in Rome to marry him to be a loving mother to his two sons; her nephews. In 1966 his daughter was born and then there were three great children that he and his second wife were so devoted to living their lives for them. Lorenzo and Luisa moved to Niagara on the Lake in 1970 to continue to raise their children in the country and began a hobby farm while still working very hard with their business. They became one of the pioneers in planting hybrid grapes; Italian Moscato, Cannonau and Malvazia grapes from Sardegna. It made for great homemade wine that was shared by many friends and family. He became more focused on his beautiful land and its bounty upon his and his wife’s retirement. In the midst of all the years of sacrifice, there was always time to entertain many family and friends on their farm with pig roasts, wine, and many homemade Sardinian dishes and Sardinian cookies. In 2010, Lorenzo became widowed again. He still continued to focus on keeping active and enjoying his accomplishments with his family and friends. Lorenzo was an amazing, most generous and kind hearted gentleman. He will be painfully missed by his family and all friends who loved being around him. May he rest in peace in God’s loving hands in our Lord’s Kingdom. Visitation will take place on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 3-7pm at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 6548 Dorchester Rd., Niagara Falls. A Funeral Mass will be held at the church at 9am on Saturday, January 8, 2022 with entombment to follow. Those wishing to attend the visitation or Mass must RSVP to George Darte Funeral Home at 905-937-4444 as capacity is limited. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Wellspring Niagara would be appreciated.

My Tribute Gift Foundation makes this online charitable giving portal web page MyTributeGift.org (the “Website”) available to you subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these terms of use (the “Terms of Use”). Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.
If in any part of these Terms of Use is held, by a court of competent jurisdiction, to be invalid or unenforceable, such part of these Terms of Use shall be eliminated to the extent permitted in that jurisdiction, for purposes of that jurisdiction, and the remaining Terms of Use shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
These Terms of Use and your use of the Website are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and all federal laws of Canada applicable therein. The courts of the Province of Ontario shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms of Use or your use of the Website.
These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between you and My Tribute Gift Foundation with respect to the Website, except as we may explicitly agree otherwise in writing.. No delay or failure to exercise any right with respect to these Terms of Use shall be construed as a waiver by My Tribute Gift Foundation.
As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified. It is your responsibility to review these Terms of Use regularly.
