Gestures
Matt was my classmate at Brock; we took the POLI 3P93- Politics and Technology class together until the time of his passing. I didn't know him much, but I remember his kind face so vividly. Whenever I contributed by speaking during seminars, like we were all expected to, Matt would nod his head in acknowledgement of what I was saying or smile from across the room. As a shy introvert and a female of colour, small gestures like that always gave me the confidence to put more of my thoughts and ideas forward without worrying about looking dumb or stammering.
I graduated with a first-class degree in 2018, and I have not stopped thinking about Matt. The day my professor came into one of the seminars crying and shivering, almost unable to get a full sentence out at once, telling us about Matt's transition, was the saddest day of my time at Brock. I miss Matt, and I send him love and light whenever I come across his saved picture on my laptop.
My condolences to his family.
My son you were an amazing man, words cannot express the emptiness, but I know you are watching over us and always present
Our loss is definitely heavens gain.
Always and forever in my heart
Until we meet again
I love you

What a wonderful, outgoing, personable, respectful, fun young man you raised. He will be very missed by my family. Just heartbreaking and such a loss for your family.
